As described by system integrator, Atish Bagchi, "The mechanical plating process provides a layer of coating on the fasteners and is driven by a 'Batch Software'. The web pages relevant to the Alloy Plating process are embedded within the Batch Software and enable operators to view and perform manual control actions at various steps."
Buildex annually produces hundreds of millions of self-drilling screws and fasteners, exporting them to 18 countries throughout Asia, Africa, Europe and the Pacific. Their manufacturing plant in Moorabbin, Melbourne is 19,500 square meters in size and consists of ten shape change lines, two heat treatment furnaces, four climaseal barrels, seven neo assembly machines, four high speed automatic head painting lines and two packing lines.
Buildex contacted SP Software and Automation to replace an existing application and allowed them full autonomy in their selection of software - as long as the application met all of their needs and would serve as a data source for their existing Historian software.
"Since we had full say on the selection of the product," said Atish, "we chose B-Scada over other products as this provided us as integrators the best tools to meet the requirements."
